Paris Mens Fashion Week
reVOLVER headed off to Paris last week to see the new Mens Fall / Winter collections...
It's late January, and that means it's time for us to stop sunning ourselves on our annual holiday and get over to Paris for Mens Fashion Week.
Ibiza might be quiet in January but Paris is buzzing. Here are some highlights:
At Isabel Benenato, the designer brought over tree branches and reeds from her own garden in the Tuscan woods to decorate the showroom! The place had an authentic Italian, wintry feel (although fortunately was heated). We arrived at KENZO the morning after the runway show, and the models' clothes were all still laid out. KENZO is a Paris-based fashion house, so whilst other labels set up shop in the city especially for Fashion Week, they have an all-year-around presence, and an army of staff. The showroom is enormous and on the first day of sales, the atmosphere was electric. Y-3 is always one of our favourite brands to visit. There is always a different phrase at the entrance to the Y-3 showroom. "It's time to move" is this season's campaign. After drooling over the latest shoes, JP was thrilled to find the Qasa backpack he missed out on last season is back by popular demand.
At Lost and Found, we were delighted to find that in addition to clothing, the label produces beer. "Everybody does a scent" the CEO Alessandro told me, "we wanted to do something different". The beer is brewed in a boutique Italian brewery and I can personally vouch for the Pale Ale!
As usual we visited a lot of showrooms and saw plenty of great designs - now the problem is how we are going to squeeze them all into the shop. Sorry I
can't give any sneak previews of the clothes just yet, but let's just say we are already very excited about next winter!
