Our Top 5 Sunglasses Trends for 2018
We've been to the shows, we've got the sunglasses out in the shop, and now we have picked out our Top 5 eyewear trends for summer 2018. Read on, before you invest in your pair for this season.
Whilst it's not yet quite as sunny here in Europe as we would like, one thing's for sure: the sun will come. And when it does, you'll need your shades at the ready!
Here at reVOLVER Sunglasses, we've been busy unpacking boxes of sunglasses for the season ahead, and have picked out our Top 5 trends.
1. Tinted lenses
Semi sheer lenses, in various colours. This trend first appeared last year, but has picked up momentum. We have to warn you, tinted lenses offer very little, if any, protection from the sun, but these are about looking good, not protection! As seen at Linda Farrow and Victoria Beckham.

2. oversized aviators
Often seen in conjunction with the tinted lenses above. Very 70s, especially the aviator with yellow lenses, but the trend is also for shades with metallic lenses. Those with big heads (as in the size) who can struggle to find glasses that suit them will be happy this season.

3. special round frames
In the past, designers have played with the size of the frame of round shaped glasses, but not much more. This season, a lot more detail has been paid to enhance the humble circle. Damir Doma's round frames are standouts, in particular the Nita (below and in main image, available in both silver and black).
4. 24 hour lenses
Here in Ibiza we never know when we're going to need sunglasses, so 24 hour lenses solve that problem. Basically, you never need to take them off! Berlin eyewear brand Kuboraum has had 24 hour lenses as a separate eyewear category since its inception, this season the concept has caught on. Barcelona's lool takes things to the next level - the rim of the glasses glows under UV light.

5. Exaggerated cat eyes
A modern interpretation of a style from the 1950s, these are the shape worn by Beyonce to the 2018 Grammy Awards, and championed by various other celebs such as Gigi Hadid and Rhianna. This style is certainly not for everyone (and I must admit they are not my favourite), although the DITA Erasur (below) is a bit more stylish than most.
